| Herman knows tires : Herman’s Tire Service delivering quality fast ...
How long do you think it should take to change all four tires on your car ? One hour ? Two hours ? Three hours ? Longer ? Ask Herman McGarrah the same question, and he'll tell you 15 minutes. And he's totally serious. And if you question how that can be humanly possible, he'd be more than happy to roll up his sleeves and show you himself - even at age 74. "He can still change two tires to my one," said Rick Hittson, who has worked for Herman's Tire Service on Arkansas Highway 112 in downtown Cave Springs for seven years. "He could whup anyone." To not only remain in business, but to continue to thrive for 50 years, as Herman's Tire Service has, you have to be doing something right. Speed is a gift McGarrah has always had going for him. But he'll tell you there's another ingredient that's key.
Texas Democratic Presidential Primary: Clinton And Obama’s Dueling ...
On the one hand it's amazing that the first serious female candidate is playing a strong, decisive military card, on the other hand you wonder how voters will react to the closing image of a woman taking the call at 3 am. If there are any sexist stereotypes lurking out there in Texas, this will draw them to the surface. MY REACTION: I don't react as strongly against this ad as some do (and as an independent voter I react very strongly against negative campaigning). Perhaps it's because I was in the 8th grade watching TV when I saw the infamous LBJ ad that only aired once LIVE. That ad did shake me up and made me fear Barry Goldwater (I had only started becoming a political junkie and had not yet done extensive research.). This one is more polite, more subtle and it can be argued simply expands on Clinton's constantly-repeated experience theme.
Got Vino? Try the Village's Gottino!
Semi-locavores will thrill to the mellow and mouth-meltingly soft Grayson cheese, made at Meadow Creek Dairy in Galax, Virginia. Drenched in honey, Gottino's two-year-old parmigiano reggiano is just as desirable, but the pale and runny gorgonzola lacks punch—pick the robiola instead. Also on the passive side, find a chunky homemade pork pâté wrapped in cawl fat, served with a lonely cornichon and a dab of fig jam. Man, is it good! The active side features crostini, composed salads, meaty mini-entrées, and pickled fish. On this side, the food is mainly Florentine in its outlook, even when chef Jody Williams is at her most creative. In that blessed city and in the Chianti regions to the southwest, peasant cooks are great admirers of fish, though the mountains that separate them from the sea historically prevent them from getting it fresh, making pickled seafood the order of the day.
Killeen Daily Herald
Riding motorcycles and feeding children, that's what one new group in Central Texas does. Last month, the official charter was signed for STAR Touring and Riding Association Killeen-Fort Hood Chapter No. 426. While the official charter signing was recent, two motorcycle enthusiasts have been building the organization for about a year. "Our mission is to have fun on motorcycles," said Dave Willoughby, STAR area coordinator. Rick Sanders, road captain, heard about the international club while working at Texas Motor Sports, Killeen's local Yamaha dealer. The organization was formed in 1996 as a family riding organization as the official riding organization of Star Motorcycles, according to the group's Web site. As a Yamaha dealer employee, however, Sanders could not start the organization.
